St John's Choir singing in Eldon Square

 Music at St John's

A number of musical events under this banner are held in the church every year.  These include organ, instrumental recitals, orchestral and choral works, and featuring Musica Johannis - a group which includes members of St John's choir.

The choir has vacancies for singers of all voices.  They should have clear voices and, ideally, be competent sight-readers - although this is not essential as this skill develops with use.  There is one weekly choral service at 10.00am on Sunday, and there is a one-hour rehearsal beforehand (no midweek practice).  There are other choral services occasionally.
The choir is friendly, sings a large and varied repertoire from 15c to modern, and there are opportunities for solo singing. If you are interested contact:
Geoffrey Watson:  via the church.
