Musica Johannis, an 8 piece octet perform alongside Paraffernalia, Gateshead's Youth Swing Band to sway us into the Christmas spirit. Refreshments served.

Music at St John's
A number of musical events under this banner are held in the church every year. These include organ, instrumental recitals, orchestral and choral works, and featuring Musica Johannis - a group which includes members of St John's choir.
The choir has vacancies for singers of all voices. They should have clear voices and, ideally, be competent sight-readers - although this is not essential as this skill develops with use. There is one weekly choral service at 10.00am on Sunday, and there is a one-hour rehearsal beforehand (no midweek practice). There are other choral services occasionally.
The choir is friendly, sings a large and varied repertoire from 15c to modern, and there are opportunities for solo singing. If you are interested contact:
